Holly Fossil Vitra Fused Glass

These fused glass trays features a "fossil" of a branch from the holly bush in our yard that was made using powdered glass atop the branch. During the fuse, the branch burns out completely, leaving its powdery image fused into the glass.

The first tray is made with neo-lavender glass atop mint green. Please note that in natural light, the neo-lavender looks like a true lavender but under photography lights it appears blue. The second platter is made with mint green atop petal pink glass. These are both one-of-a-kind pieces.

These platters have so many potential uses! My sister-in-law likes to use hers as a coffee table centerpiece with pillar candles. My sister uses hers as an olive tray. We like to use them as candy dishes and appetizer trays, as well as near the front door for holding keys.

Handmade in our Bala Cynwyd home glass studio, exclusively using Bullseye Glass Co.’s high quality art glass. Kiln fired and properly annealed for strength and durability.
